Root & Roam is a Christian, nature-based homeschool co-op for families with children ages 0–7. We meet around Cincinnati and Dayton for seasonal story, craft, skill, and enjoying the slow rhythms of being little together.

Root & Roam is about relationships; with God, His creation, knowledge, and fellow image-bearers. We’re here to intentionally weave all of these together during the most foundational years of our children’s lives.
Nature is the curriculum
Not all classrooms have four walls. We go with the seasons and enjoy what the outdoors has to offer.
A village for mamas, too
An informed, resourceful, and encouraged mother is the deep root system that allows a child to sprout and bloom in their own wonderful way.

Root & Roam is full of ordinary people, coming together to notice the extraordinary wonders of children experiencing the power of nature and free play.
From a park bench to a village.
Root & Roam began in 2025 with a handful of Cincinnati area moms who wanted more than the occasional play date. We built in structure around faith, time in nature, and like-minded support from moms who planned to homeschool, but didn’t yet have “school aged” children.
